We are in Wellington and staying at Owhiro Bay. It's a rugged piece of coastline and very exposed, so we are being buffeted by strong gusts of wind. (Wellington is renowned for wind...) Today we had a lovely bike ride around this coastline on a 4WD track. It was a bit rough and rocky in places and I kept thinking that the bandaids in my pack wouldn't quite be enough if I came off on some of those very sharp rocks! Luckily I didn't need them and we got back safe and happy. On Sundays, the 4WD vehicles are not allowed on the track, so it was really busy with walkers and cyclists, enjoying the fact that they didn't have all the noise and dust associated with vehicles.
