Book parade

We had a book parade at school today. The children dress up as a character from a book. There were some neat costumes. A couple of the staff came and read to our class - they were dressed as grannies and read the book 'Grandma's Undies' - the kids thought it most amusing!

So good. Reading needs to be fun, not boring. I am afraid the new decodable readers are turning bright children off, because they are so boring! Controversial subject though!!
