We have a couple of young kauri trees at our place. Today I noticed some new growth coming from the lower trunk of one of them (unusual, since the other branches are way higher). Kauri are a NZ native and can grow up to 50 metres tall and live for over 2,000 years.
Lovely image. I too would encourage you to look into removing this growth. Seems like letting it grow will lead to creating more of a giant bush than a tree. Of course check with experts don’t take my word for it.
