i have one i got from ebay with a timer built in and a verticle shutter button, definately worth the $$ - was a fairly cheap price.
i highly suggest 2 other add ons to the rig - a wrist strap and a rubber housing. i have a d90 and they have made a world of difference. if you go with cheap batteries - not all will work. i buy 10 at a time, and 1 usually gives out in about 6 months or so. the flip side, 10 for the price of 1 from nikon, a bad one is not that much of a loss.
You cant get cheaper than those on E bay, i have one for mine. I would advise against the LED display ones as the instructions are poorly translated and i have a friend who cant work his as he doesnt understand the translation.
Apart from that, they are very good, they match the grip and finish on the D90.
@gh0st there are instructions with it? hehehe i just played around (no offense by any means) no matter which type, i strongly suggest a vertical trigger option that has on/off for the vertical shutter
@cchambers Chris i went for the one with the vertical trigger, it was a friend of mine that bought the digital display one, he got in touch saying he hadnt a clue how to set it up as the instructions were so poor lol!
can i ask why you need a battery grip so bad? the D90 has one of the longest battery lifes i've come across. It'd probably be cheaper for you to pick up more spare batteries instead of a grip by the sounds of it.
