I am totally guessing here but I would imagine that you would need a fairly good macro (obvious really), REALLY good lighting (so that you can shoot really fast while zoomed in and small aperture), small aperture and zoomed in as much as possible (to get the depth of field) and high-speed film or setting your digital camera to a high ISO (probably 800 to 1000 - most of the shots looked a bit grainy).
It would take a lot of experimentation to get the focus right and an appropriate depth of field and probably many hundreds of shots to get that one spectacular shot where all the settings are just right AND you happen to time it just so!
@elsun Ciao Valentina. I am in California, but from England. Thirty years ago I spoke Italian and would love to practice again as i have almost forgotton how to speak, but can understand some. I LOVE being behind my camera, I have been to Venice. I love italy. I dated someone who was from Gaeta vicino Napoli.
