My husband and I are going to San Fransisco from NJ late this Spring, and I am looking for Photography related tours, classes and venues. Also on the look out for great places to take photos and put our new skills to work during our trip.
Anyone on the west coast, or California travelers have any recommendations? I did check our Trip Advisor, and they seemed to have a lot of personally-referred photo-related stuff.
-ghirardelli square
-fort point (and the whole beach before it, great views of the golden gate)
-twin peaks (great view of the city)
-painted ladies (houses across from alamo square)
-pier 39; lombard st (if u want touristy shots
-palace of fine arts
-anywhere along the great highway
-golden gate park
or visit little italy, china town and castro for some good people watching and street photography...
anywhere u go is going to be filled with opportunities...
I went to San Fran back in 2008. I spent four days there and took 600+ pictures. Go to the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset and sunrise. China Town offers great shots too. Pier 39 is good for boat pictures and I call it the Food district (I don't know if its the right name for it) but its where all the Italian restaurants are is also good for candids. This opinion comes from a non professional photographer from Las Vegas.
