Wow.. That`s so true,Steve.. Your deep argument moved me... Now,I think I love being a tiny pixel,too.... Thanks for enlightening me with your everlasting wisdom... wow...
@georgekaplan Pretty much all of the above. 1. You can upload full high-res images (if you want) and it automatically resizes to multiple dimensions for posting on the web, emailing, etc. 2. It's a very active community where you can get feedback on photos, follow others (like you can here) and see what they are taking photos of, etc. There are also a number of discussion and photo groups you can get involved in. 3. It's great for sharing with friends and family. For example, now instead of emailing my parents any time I take a picture of my kids I just tell them to bookmark my flickr page and check it whenever they want and see photos as soon as they go live.
@georgekaplan I use it because it's central, everyone knows it, it's easier to point people to; for them to interact with; and for me to have social aspects on; than G2 plugged into my WP blog, and because a mate of mine said "You're a photographer, what do you mean you don't have a flickr account?!"
@georgekaplan - I have family and friends all over the world and its so much easier for all of them to look at my Flickr page than for me to email individual photos to them all the time.
I'm still trying to learn how to be more computer oriented. I don't know where the code is for that. lol I've only learned how to paste a pic in the discusion groups. lol So much for me to learn.
Heres mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/comfortandplenty/

Hi everyone.
Why do people use Flickr? (not saying you shouldn't - just a general question!) is it to store images? Give access to family? To sell? Showcase?
Why do you use it? All the above!!!?
