Emma, I think you're off to a good start-- you have a creative eye. One of the quickest ways to learn and improve is to go to the blog, and visit the people whose pictures make the week's top 20. It will put some ideas in your head whileyou're snapping and editing. Have fun! PS: I really like your first picture, your own portrait, and your rock, and I had to fave the wheelbarrow with the pansies in it!

generally i am not a fan of processing/editing and i would love to see more of your work with less processing (that's me). i think you compose your photos pretty well and you are off to a great start :)
