At first, I honestly didn't like it so much, but after checking it out a bit more, I dig it a lot. I like how one shot is vertical and the other is horizontal, and I like the X pattern created in the center of the frame.

Is there a third shot in there as well? The light leak that appears over the guy's face ... I can't find a way to explain that unless it was intentionally edited in, or if it's coming from a third shot. Either way, I came around, and it's pretty bad ass, as is a lot of your other work.

I kinda wish the guy was a little longer so he could fill some of the dead space in the upper left. And maybe there should be a little more neck visible. When you're using a silhouette, you might want to exaggerate it a little, since they don't really offer any texture to the picture (which you fixed brilliantly with the tree branches over his face). Again, that's strictly my opinion, but yeah, more neck.

Beyond that, I don't have much else to say. Is there a specific theme you're going for with these double exposures? Or are you combining them based only on which ones look good together? You can really accomplish a lot with this, especially if you come up with a theme and work toward it.

Hell, I might even give this a shot...

Now, lastly, you have to share how you process your digital shots to look so filmy. Please! :D

I'm with Gary. You are creating some interesting photographs. Very artsy. Keep working on them because I think you have a talent for this type of photography.

@gurry TH\hanks for the critique :)
Um for the first part, no there is only 2 images, the image of my friend is overexposed and the sun is also beating down on him leading to the top of it being a light leak. and thanks :)

Next paragraph D: ---> Yeah because i overexposed him, his body was a little akward with the other photo thats tipped on its side. The shadow under the bridge is actually not a shadow but just the outline of his body, but I most deff see what your saying and it would be cool to see more of him

Yeah I kinda just picked two images to put together and it worked out nicely, I usually pick a few from every set and then one of the combo's is usually a good fit.

And you should most deff give it a shot :)

To get the film look I use two different methods
For good lighting I have a action preset in photoshop which makes it a weird blue I must admit but then I take away around half the layers from the preset to give a warm yellow/red, then I convert that to black and white and make the offset a tad bit higher.

The other way for darker lighting/ grainy photos (I just put a photo up doing this haha) is I use a preset in lightroom and tinker with that as well haha. Basically I use these presets or actions to give me a start and then I change them and add other stuff to give it the desire feel I want haha

I included a link here (dont worry they were both free so no pirate business involved haha) with both of them included for you http://www.mediafire.com/?rgsqwi5ddt8zaum

For the photoshop action, use the 1st one, get rid of curves 2, levels 1, color fill 1, usually the background copy, and then from there you will just have to tinker and mess around in photoshop with a few things here and there untill you feel satisfied haha, hope that helps

The first impression for me was that it is a messy shot, where should I look at... but after magnifying I rather enjoyed looking at the picture. I think this technique would be a powerful tool in storytelling, but in this case it seems to be more of just searching for that "1+1=3" -thing ... To me the person is the main subject and I kind of wish to see a tighter crop. Maybe the bottom bit could be expendable, the effect of the leading lines could still work with a crop, but the focus would now be shifted to the person... ? I like the "wheel of fortune sector" effect in the middle :) As a concept, love it & keep doing it.

@balkaj You're the boss! Thanks for the thorough reply and the link to the actions/presets. I'll definitely give them a shot soon. Keep up the great work, and thanks again.

@janmaki I see what your saying and I think your ideas would look pretty cool on this picture. Honestly I didnt really have anything as a main subject when I made this photo, I threw two photos together and just mixed the opacitys until I felt satisfied and adjusted from there. But next time I will most deff look into making the person the main subject haha. Thanks for the critique :)

@gurry Haha anytime, tell me how it works out :D
