This is my niece! I became an Auntie for the first time last weekend. I know the yellow is a little distracting but it's mama's favorite color. I am brand brand new, but I would love some help I will get to see them again in the middle of June and I want them to have some great pictures. Thanks for looking and helping me out!

This would look lovely in black and white too (as an alternative edit). It's always nice to have a subject to experiment on. Search this site by the Newborn tag and see what ideas come up!

@kiwichick thank you so much! Newborns are hard photographers make it look so easy lol. She was not happy with me and wouldn't do any poses for me ha ha. But I suppose I'll give her a break she was only two days old :-)

seems a little light to me..? maybe try contrast do you think?

I would include all of her, instead of chopping the top of her head off :) Also if you search on here, there are some great threads about how to get a newborn shoot to go well...basically full tummy, warm area/room and soft props.

@shadesofgrey LOL I didn't even realize I did that I have another one of her feet and I accidentally chopped one of her toes off but her whole body is in it lol! She was wiggling so much lol... thank you so much I will definitely check out those threads, I'll be seeing them soon and I would love to practice more!

Yes I do prefer the black and white. Perhaps a little more contrast but because she's so delicate you don't want to add too much. I've only had the pleasure of shooting newborns a couple of times but the first 2 weeks is definitely the best time because they are much sleepier. Here is one I took for my friend

I love the yellow...it gives a feeling of a fresh newborn baby. But I agree yellow is hard to work with. Why doing you just desaturate it by about half...then you will still have the yellow but you will not be distracted by it.
