Pretty sunlight and I like how you positioned the eyes. There is a shoe or something in the upper left corner, which looks unintentional. Overall, it is a sweet photo.

@vase it is a shoe lol my friends foot yeah

The composure is nice except for the shoe. Maybe you could play around in PP to make the cat's eyes pop more? Overall good job :-)

The shoe is kinda 'distracting' but somehow it looks like the cat's wearing a hat. So it's interesting!

Hi Shelby I have a black cat and he is hard to photograph. With the flat ears your cat looks as if he isn't very happy (?). I'd wait and snap him when he is more relaxed. I do like it that he is looking at you. I upload a photo of my cat every month but I haven't got one I'm really happy with yet - so patience and keep snapping him. AnneMary x

well the shoe is in focus - the cat is not.

Hi Shelby, First it's great to see you progressing with your photography. This is a really good shot! Yes the infamous shoe is just something that you can learn from, Everybody takes a pic and then sees something they are not happy with. Enjoy taking pics, you are improving and fast. Now what is your cat's name? We would like to see more pics of him! Thanks Glenn.

As others have said, watch the focus.

@frankhymus I don't know how to make my ipod focus D:

@marinasdiamonds I don't know the details of the iPod camera, but probably there is some sort of "minimum focus distance" and perhaps you were too close to the cat. The phone camera probably locks on to the closest object it can, and that might have been the foot, or perhaps the grass. it's an issue with auto focus even with more complex cameras and lenses. I'd try a few more shots at different distances and see what you can discover.

i like it, but very a small increase in focus might help
p.s. i"m going to piggyback on your thread because i don't know how to start a thread
hope you don't mind, and if you do i'll delete this comment

i thought about it because it's another cat pic
so please critique

@marinasdiamonds you should be able to tap on the part of the screen that you want to focus on and it should focus for you. That said, @frankhymus has a good point that there are always minimum focus distances for cameras.. so if you were too close you'd have to back up, zoom in, recompose, focus and then shoot
