The high contrast b&w edit works really well with the rock look. Maybe, it is a bit too tightly framed - needs some space (and the cut-off foot seems awkward). Overall, excellent shot.
+1 on crop... and maybe a little slower shutter to introduce some motion blur to show him rocking out... but I really enjoy the treatment in general... your point is made... we are just being picky...
I think I need to stop writing replies then clicking away before posting said reply.
Anyway, from what I remember trying to say earlier.
Love love love the movement of the hair, the B&W really works for the image.
I'm with the crop crowd, I miss his toe and foot, and want somewhere for the guitar to 'go' as he's rocking out.
But, this photo would also work with a much tighter crop. Missing the foot, go for a 3/4. Knees up, and just past his hand.
I'm assuming that it isn't a studio shot, but the fading into the background still bothers me a tiny bit. If you're able to rephotograph (never works for me, and I'm super jealous of people that can) maybe try on a different background. Or keeping the same background (easier to adjust levels to black in ps) switch the shirt for a light but not white tshirt and a jeans jacket maybe?
Sorry if my comments seem a little harsh, they're not meant to be. It's a great photo and still worthy of printing up!
