Your subject matter is not boring. What I saw in your pictures is an over use of your flash. I started out the same way. You should try to set up different lighting conditions so that your flash is not needed. I did this by positioning lights, the same picture with and without the flash, and trying out HDR photos in low light conditions.
@cirasj Thanks Joe, I do the same thing and noticed I did get different colors and shadings with no flash - I need not be so nervous about NOT using it. What does HDR mean? I'm still a "baby photographer".
@kittynme I was waiting for that questions. HDR is taken a photo at three different exposures (-2, 0, +2) and merging them together using software. I use free software to produce mine.
