What Can I Do Better?

January 10th, 2011
Hey folks, I'm definitely interested in becoming a better photographer, and I've been so blown away by the talented lot of you. I would really value any and all feedback you could give me on my photos - I'll definitely put it to good use!

@photophil i'm certainly no expert. I looked at your photos and I think you have some really lovely, really artsy shots. I like the dof in a lot of your shots. The best way to get feedback is to comment on other peoples' work and then they will comment back on yours. It's quite reciprocal. And Welcome!

@stepheesue thanks! I actually coincidentally just commented on your latest photo in the critique game thread.

Yeah, the dof is thanks to my lovely 35mm 1.8. I've used it 90% of the time since I bought my d90 - barely touched the 18-105.

Stick around. Have patience. Give feedback,and you`ll get feedback.

@photophil
Thanks,Phillip.The profile pic is actually an album art from the band Muse,so it`s not really my work,I can`t take credit for it.

What I started doing is just going into the "recently popular" photos and following everyone who's pictures I liked. They post, I comment, and they come right back and comment on mine :) And it's nice to see a lot of other people's work so I can get some ideas of my own, try new things I may not have thought of before etc.

@amorton1437 Angela, thank you for the suggestion - I have been trying to comment on a good number of photos per day, and that seems to be working out well. I took a look through your pictures - I'm excited to see what this year brings for you!
