I've often asked people I know for some constructive criticism, but all I get is, "I like it" or "cool". I KNOW I'm far from pro status, but I'm trying to improve all aspects of my photos. If anyone wants to look through my pictures and has tips or advice for me, I'd really appreciate it :)
Hi Sarah!
I'm no professional either...but I did take a look at your photos. Here's my honest and frank opinion. Your people photos are better than your photos of other things. Maybe it's the angle in which you take them, I don't know...but you really capture some great moments! On the other ones, work on finding one thing you want to focus on and go from there. You're doing really well and I'd encourage you to just shoot away as much as you are able to with your camera. Have fun most of all!!!
Blessings, Kim
Thanks for bringing this up Sarah...would anyone would like to do the same with me? Funny cuz I just changed my profile info or whatever it is saying to please say also what you DO NOT like! I believe I would learn better that way. Most everyone on here is so talented and full of inspiration and I strive to be like all of you one day!
I'm no pro but I would be happy to look through and comment on your stuff! Please feel free to do the same to mine. I always appreciate learning from others!
What a great idea. It's nice to hear the nice comments, but often it's the constructive criticism that is more helpful. Will go through some now and leave comments, would love it if you guys could do the same for me, too :) @positronicmommy@arrayofblues@lower_angle
After reading a bunch of the comments, I've found that I need to crop more often, lol.
Funny thing......
I NEVER tend to do that! I'm always worried about throwing off the size or proportions or something. I'll definitely experiment more with that.
Also, after my kids go to bed, I'll do the same for those who are interested :)
@lower_angle I have the same problem, don't want to crop too much for fear of throwing off the proportions; it becomes a pain when it comes time to print! It was recommended to me to keep a cop of both the crop you like (for uploading) and a crop that is in proportion (for printing). Will be keeping that in mind in the future!
That seems like an obvious idea, but I've never thought of it, haha! Yeah, printing cropped photos always frustrated me, so I think that's why I stopped cropping in the first place.
