My only advice would be that, instead of a handwritten sign, maybe use Photoshop to add the lettering to the sign, might give it more impact. I'll leave other suggestions to the more experienced, as I know nothing about photo editing.
Well it depends on what you originally wanted, and how you think its wrong? One cant give you help to fix this is we dont know where you think its wrong?
Is there a reason the photo is tinted in purple. Sorry if that is a stupid question. It's just when I first looked at it, I didn't look at the notebook. I saw purple, then the girl, then the notebook. Obviously its the words that you want to jump out at people and I'm not sure having the photo all the same colour is going to help achieve that.
No expert (nor do I pretend to be!) but I would maybe crop down the top a little so the focus is more on the girl and the notebook. I quite like the notebook :) I like that it is handwritten and not 'perfect' as it adds a more personal feel to the mesage and is a positive spin on "the suicide note".
