my camera's tickin' me off - help please

1) It doesn't focus correctly, I think. It's a Fujifilm S5000. The focus is off center to the right and above the little cross and box in the middle of the viewfinder.
I'm using it mostly in the automatic setting, so it's just point and shoot.
2) When I do use it in manual, I'm trying to get a sense of motion, longer shutter speed, and my pictures come out solid white. Once I switched to auto after getting a series of these white shots and then the slow shutter speed worked and I got a picture of falling snow. This tells me that I have the settings correct, it's just not working. I tried this again and it didn't work though. It was just a normal automatic point and shoot result.

Can you adjust the aperture? It seems like you have it too wide open (low f#) for a long shutter speed...if it's not that, I am out of ideas. Is the focus where is supposed to be or is it off too? hope this helps.

@triciaknuts Some cameras let you pick one spot in the viewfinder you always want to focus on, or you can have it focus on all points the best it can. Maybe you accidentally changed it to only that one point

Look for AF Mode and change it to Multi http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilms5000/page7.asp http://www.ehow.com/how_7450356_use-fuji-s5000-tutorial.html
