Well done on taking the critique into consideration. I like this one much more!

I like this... it gives a good impression of a seizure... i would like to see the text back, it gave the composition balance. The colours work especially with the red tones.

Good job

This is a great idea but, and I am sorry, I know it is all personal opinion but this works less for me, he (you?) looks kind of surprised, I liked the previous picture because he is so 'normal' and it can happen to anyone. Normal felt good, it is you and I, it is the impact of epilepsy on someones "normaility" that is so hard to convey. Does that make any sense...?

I like this one better. I don't actually know anything about epilepsy except the very basics, but I like how this one conveys terror. :D

I think this really conveys shock much better than the last one. the eyes look great and i like the lifted eyebrows. However, I agree with Tracy regarding the text, it added something to the photo, it feels like there's something missing to me now. Obviously just my opinion, I am by no means an expert on either photography or epilepsy. Hope it works out well for you =)

Agreed... i definitely feel the shock here more than the last one.

@michellegaynor Yes, it is me in the shot, and i agree.. sort of. Tbh i like both, i think that 'Vacancy' is a better title for the prior my mom who is a nurse also mentioned that there is a kind of seizure referred to as petti-minor (sp?) where you blank out and just kinda stare off into space, which while i didnt know it at the time, works great for the prior shot. I will probably enter them both since luckily multiple entries are allowed!

Thanks everyone for the comments, Ill play around w/ the text or.. ideally something else. I worry as it is a photo competition (w/ full freedom in PS) that adding the text will be slightly detrimental to how they view the image.. Ill see what i can do w/ it though

it's great but i too would like to see the text back :o)

I like the first version better, my brother has epilepsy and the blank look on the fisrt one really reminded me of how he looked just before his seizure.

I like this, especially the darkness and the blur. I even think more blur would be even better. For me seizures are so much confusion and exhaustion, but it's shocking/terrifying for those who witness it. I've not figured out how to put that in a photo yet. You did a great job.

i like this a lot, and contrary to what seems to be popular opinion, i prefer it without the text. i didn't really like the words "shock" (i think that's what it said) -- it made me feel like the subject was undergoing shock therapy or some kind of torture.

my dad is epileptic, and i've watched him have many grand mal seizures during his lifetime. and although the seizures are caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, i didn't think "shock" conveys the right feel. i also tend to agree with your thoughts about the addition of text detracting from the photo itself.

just my $0.02 =)
