This shot is dear to me :)
I have been trying to use photoshop for editing photos but have found the learning curve a bit steep, this is officialy my first 100% PS processed photo.

I'm afraid to PS not knowing if I can manage to learn it..but from what I see here your mastered it..as I can't see this picture being any better. love to see what it looked like before.

It's just lovely. Agree with @bruni - if there's a way - it'd be great to see what it looked like in the original.

PS is a DEEP program. I think the learning process is endless. I know only about a fingernail's depth of it. This certainly looks nice, and like you've mastered far more than I have.

@bruni @reba @ldpaul Thanks :D
Unfortunately I can't find a way to upload the original :S

I think this is a great photo! Nice job with the editing, too - it's effective, but it's subtle, and works really nicely.

Learning Photoshop is pretty much an endless journey, in my opinion. There are just so many things you can do with it, there will always be more new things to learn - and I'm sure my clumsy attempts to edit my photographs are not even scratching its beautiful, shiny surface!

The only way I've ever seen that done I think is when the original is uploaded for one day's photo and the edited one is uploaded for another day's photo, but if you can't upload it at all, then that wouldn't work. Whatever - the edited version is really wonderful. I love all the soft space of the sky, the color, and the kind of unusual composition - it really works.

@manek43509 thanks :)
@reba Gr8, here it is

oh yeah - greatly improved; magical editing

You really did nice work on the sky. Did you do that with added layers? I would love to hear more detail on it ;)! I really, really like the sky but if I could change one tiny thing, I might have increased the brightness on just the Big Ben, as it seems just a teensy bit underexposed.

@swagih I see editing took you no second! Time is still the same :-) You chose a nice tint but i like the original too! While editing, try to get some more detail from the tower.

@jannaellen Thanks :)
Yep you're right should've done that ;) yep many layers I think I may have used around 30 layers to edit the whole photo xD
@reba thank you

@mastermek took me around and hour-2 hours not entirely sure ;D
My camera's sensor pretty much sucks !!! ;D still hoping to get a DSLR
So I try to do what I can with what I have, If I tried to increase sharpness a bit more it started to get pixelated and look weird :S. Thanks for the tip though I'll be sure to keep it in mind when editing a photo at a lower ISO. ;)

I was lucky to have two photoshops classes [one by someone who was certified in it]. It's definitely something you continue to learn throughout the years. Nice job.

You did a great job with the editing! better than any editing I've ever done. ;-P

I see. Indeed you should use sharpness with caution!
A good tip is using the magic-wand-tool for selections if you not already used it (it may be called slightly different, I use a Dutch version).
If you select this tool there should be a 'tolerence' option in the upper toolbar which determine the amount of pixels that are excepted at once. Also click the 'ani-alias' option for a smoother edge of you selection. This way can simply select the entire sky around your tower in one click. By inverting the selection ('selection' menu) you have only your tower selected.
I believe there is a menu called 'Image' with 'adust...' as a second option. There you'll find 'contrast', 'levels', 'exposure' and 'curves' (I believe). Those are great option to play with for exposing details that you have in your picture but cannot see at first.
Hope it help!
