Is anyone interested in a meet up? I am not real familiar with Seattle as a city but I would love to meet some of the other 365'ers in the area and I figure this is the most central place....If you're interested let me know. I don't know if the weather will cooperate or not, but if there are enough people wanting to go, maybe that won't be an issue! If you have a great place to shoot or you want to shoot, I am open to suggestions.
would love to meet up with you and some others. will see how many want to meet up before suggesting a place,, mainly because I dont know Seattle all that well either lol
I'll be at the Italian Festival at the Seattle Center 10-12 on Saturday. So, I will already be downtown if you want to meet after that. Sunday is open at the moment. The festival runs all weekend, if you are interested.
Darn, I wish I wasn't busy that weekend. Let me know if another Seattle Meet-Up happens. The majority of my pictures are in Seattle City Limits. Let me know if you want to know where any of them are.
@dmortega Where is the festival located in relation to Pikes Place/Downtown vs Qwest field downtown? I was thinking anybody who wanted could meet at the festival then we could continue around the area if you think it would be a good place to walk around. Sorry if I sound like a tourist, I am not extremely familiar with the definition of "downtown" Seattle.
I would love to do a meet up! I'm working all day Saturday though so could only do Sunday. Don't let that stop you from doing a Saturday if that works better for the rest of you. And tourist Seattle is fun to photograph; I love to play tourist in my own city sometimes. @shadesofgrey@jessicapena@nikkers@dmortega@jessicapena@seattle
@stephlife Wow, well sorry to miss you. Look up @ldpaul when you get there, she's a local and knows the area, plus she's a member here, so you know she's cool! ;)
@shadesofgrey I'm at the Seahawk game on Sunday, so Saturday is better for me; however, I'm also probably not going to be back from the Puyallup Fair until later in the afternoon, so please plan around what is best for everyone else and I'll join if I can!
@shadesofgrey . Makes no difference to me which day.. Im desperate to get out of house cleaning . so either day,,, if its Sunday though I will most likely have to leave my husband at home to watch the game... oh poor me , the hardship of it all...
lol
grrrrr I can't do Sunday.... :( @dmortega what a name for a restaurant lol I love it... the visual I get for their logo in my head troubles me though lol
@nikkers well I my second choice was a plaid elmer fudd hat.....great minds think alike! I think I will stick to regular ball cap and you can wear the cookie monster hat....
Boooo:( I didn't realize this was so soon! I have friends coming in from out of town that date! If it ends up being on the Sunday, I just may be able to make it........
aaarrrgghh, I wish everyone could make it the same day. We will have to make it a point to get another one in soon. I know I said Saturday but damn now Sunday sounds equally do able, either way one or two can't make it.....any suggestions?
@shadesofgrey In response to your any suggestions question, just go with the one that is better for you at this this point. There will always be people that can't make it. It sounds like the difference is a couple of people one way or the other. Forecast looks sunnier on Saturday.
I see suggestions for Pike Place and the Italian Fest. Nice thing is they are just a monorail ride apart from each other. One plus of doing Sunday is that street parking is free.
Let me know when you have another weekend lined up because it would be fun to do.
@shadesofgrey Hey I just saw this post!, I would love to do a Seattle meet-up. Sunday, however I am out of town,. (insert sad face) I will be around on Saturday and planned on going to the Italian Festival at the Seattle Center. We should all meet at center and have lunch there. You can take the monorail from downtain to the center. I saw that @dmortega was already going to be attending this event. Then later if people still have time, we can take the monorail back downtown and walk to the Market. Just a suggestion. I know that I am late to respond. @pwallis@nikkers@jessicapena@dhostick@shantwin
The Seattle Monorail is a good option, if you want to go to the Seattle Center, $4/roundtrip from Westlake Center which is very close to the market.
Here is information: http://www.seattlemonorail.com/rates.php
You decide what will work for you because I'm somewhat flexible. If you want to meet someplace else for lunch,. that is fine too. I suggest this restaurant because it's local and one of our favorites for cheap good mexican food. We love it but there are lots of other optiion as well that we would be willing to do. So, you decide what works and then lets settle on a place and time to meet. :-)
Sounds like Saturday is the day so I'm out. Second working Saturday in a row for me. If you come back around to Sunday make sure to include my name in the reply so I catch it, though I will try to keep my eye on the thread. :(
I just heard on the radio about a VIP in town on Sunday. No way do I think we want to deal with that headache (at least I don't) so.......
How about what Dorrena originally suggested 1pm Saturday at El Puerco Lloron . If anyone wants to meet Dorrena at the festival, I'm sure you can coordinate!
Ok, see you Saturday 1pm for lunch at El Puerco Lloron (The Crying Pig). The link is posted above. If you are at the market, there will be stairs that lead down to the next street. Cross the street and continue down the stairs. The restaurant is located on the right just a little way down. There will be a mexican import store right next door.
For those of you who may be driving in, there is garage parking within walking distance to the market, next door to Bed, Bath, and Beyond, located on 3rd and Virginia. It costs $7 for all day parking. You won't find better rates anywhere. If you do, let me know. See you Saturday. :-)
Bummer - sounds like Saturday's the day then:( I won't be able to make it, but I look forward to seeing all your shots from the meet, and let me know if you'll be doing one again in Seattle or area anytime soon - like Vancouver:)
@shadesofgrey@dmortega Dorrena, I will not be with the Seattle Photography group on Saturday, but I will be at the Festival taking shots. I have plans in the afternoon so I was going to spend the morning at the Seattle Center Italian Festival shooting and eating lunch there. I will not be able to travel down to the Market for lunch as that will not give me enough time at the center since it does not open until 10 am. Sorry I will miss you guys this time. Looking forward to another opportunity to get together. Have fun.
@seattle I am so sorry, I just re-read your message above! I didn't realize what you had written. I hope you don't think I was blowing you or your idea off. I don't think it would have been a big deal to meet down there and get lunch. For some reason, I didn't put two and two together when I read it the first time, and couldn't comprehend it. I feel really bad about it. Please accept my apology and I hope that you will be able to make the next one.
@shadesofgrey I've been recruited into some daughter-duties this afternoon, so won't be able to catch all of you... hope you have a super time and thanks for working to organize this! I usually make it in to the Seattle area for most Seahawk games, so perhaps another weekend!
Incase anyone reade this before heading down.... I will be the goofy looking gril with a pink and cheetah print flower in her hair... although done plenty of selfies so I should be hard to miss lol
We had a beautiful, if not unconventional warm day, which made taking pictures a challenge because of the sun. Ha! Lunch was great and the walk around was fantastic. We all were ready for the hill climbs. Yay!!! My husband and I are looking forward to the next meetup. :-)
@dmortega I am looking forward to the next one too! Thank you so much for being our "tour guide" it was a blast. I have already started thinking about possibilities.
@jessicapena , @dmortega , @shadesofgrey . Thanks to you all for the wonderful day, we had a blast, Glad Avery wasn't a pickle. :)
Looking forward to the next one... hey maybe it could be at Christmas time in Bills shed.. lol
@dmortega@shadesofgrey@nikkers wow what a blast! thanks for putting up with me running late (never trust technology over human directions lol) Can't wait for the next one! Was such a pleasure to meet you all!

@pwallis I know you are a ways away but you are invited if you want to make the drive....and the border crossing!

The Seattle Center is just north of the market. It's a bit far to walk so we can drive down to meet everyone.
lol
@dmortega what a name for a restaurant lol I love it... the visual I get for their logo in my head troubles me though lol
It sounds like Saturday works for the majority of the people..... So meet up 1pm at
El Puerco Lloron, Located on the stairs that lead down from the Market to the waterfront
