Photo Editing Apps for IPAD

January 7th, 2012
I got an IPAD 2 for Christmas and I want to be able to edit my photos on it. There are a lot of different apps out there for that but none of the free ones I have tried are that great and I don't want to by a more expensive editing app and have it suck too. I love the ease and features of picnik but it isn't available on IPADs so...anyone have any suggestions for a picnik like photo editing app? I don't mind paying for one if it is good. I pay monthly for picnik now so paying a onetime fee for an app might end up cheaper in the long run anyway.

I use my iPad 2 all the time for photo editing. There are several apps I use - filter storm, photo forge 2, photoshop express, photo toaster, touch up, 100cameras, snap seed are the most common (pretty much daily) each is for slightly different featured. Good luck!

I use the iPad only for 'lite' editing, can't upload photos off the 'pad so I still fire up the desktop's Photoshop and use that. :)

@pete21 I don't know if you know but you can email the image from your iPad to your 365 email. I know it's doing one at a time but it works! And what you write in he subject line becomes ( unless you then change it) the photo title. Hope this helps :)

Hi Sara I use the following.
Photogene and Snapseed for normal cropping, etc, very similar apps, like them both
Dynalite HD for HDR
And either use tilt shift generator or Snapseed for tilt shift.

@pete21 for about 5 bucks on amazon you can get something that will hook to your IPAD to upload from a usb or a sd card. Just FYI. Apple sells one too but it is $39.

@sassyinthecity I got the connecters thrown in as part of the deal, I can connect the camera or an SD card, all for free too :)

@reallyme Yeah, but the original problem is still there, the photo editers can't handle what I'm used to doing in Photoshop and until they can............

I've just been having a play with snapseed, I've had it for a couple of weeks but I've not played aout with it too much until today :0. I've now revised my opinion! You still dont get to play with layers BUT although it is still quite basic this is the best editing prog I've used on the 'pad.

Certinaly good for minor tweaking before uploading to Twitter :)
