Nikon Coolpix issue!

January 8th, 2012
Hello my new camera is a Nikon Coolpix, Im sad ive named it Robbie :) anyway its automaticly on close uo, then you can go on to settings and click close up again so its a close up, even more, I dont really under stand that bit but anyway, I dont want it on flash so I take it off and I focus it and take the shot and it makes the photo noise 2 times and come out blurry and its really annoying me. Just a second ago I was trying to take a photo of my cat Rolo and she is sitting in the sunlight so I dident want flash on. When flash it on it comes out fine but its black background. But I DONT want flash :) xx

Any Ideas?x

I have a Coolpix P7000 if I want to travel light and I like it because it has a hot shoe and a standard view finder which is great for when bright daylight drowns out the image on the LCD monitor. But there is a huge range of Nikon Coolpixes. Which model to you have?

I have an L110 and I keep the flash down. Which Coolpix do you have? You may need to go through your menus to check the settings. They may be need to be reset. I think you can reset to the manufacturers settings also.

I also have a S3100. Not quite sure what your problem is but if you have it automatically on macro the flash will come on if it thinks it needs it, otherwise your picture is going to need a long exposure and will come out blurred unless you have really steady hands.

You can tell if your picture will come out blurred because the two brackets in the middle of the screen will be red instead of green or white. If they are red don't bother taking the picture, you will need to change your settings first.
