365 or 366??

February 25th, 2012
ok so my daughter and I started our project on 1st March 2011 so do we finish on 28th February (365) and leave a day between our start and end dates (the 29th) or finish on the 29th (366)?? I'm sure this has probably been asked before but i haven't seen it. Does anyone know if it is counted as a 366 year for the project.....i hope this makes sense???

I reckon you should stick to the 28th feb, since it's the '365' project not 'one year' project ;) but of course that's debatable! And in the end it's your project, not anybody else's. Maybe we should ask Ross??

@izzymathie thanx Izzy, i have just thought that we will actually have a blank space on our february calender if we don't do 366, don't know if i could live with that, lol! It's all too hard!!

I would say what ever date 365 lands on is it! Any plans beyond that Trude?
February 25th, 2012
@trude Ahh that's a very good point, I see the problem! That would definitely nag away at you haha x

I don't think it matters!! It's however you decide to do it. I started my project on January 1 and I plan to do one year of photos. And this year has 366 days in it. So mine is a 366 project. Unless I forget a day! LOL!!

@michaelelliott That's my daughters opinion on it too Michael, I do intend to continue so i suppose i could just make the 29th my first new year? Geez i don't like making decisions! My plans are to continue but maybe not every single day....although it could take me a while to cut back on postings! Love this far too much to leave now:)

@jenp Thanks Jennifer, see what i mean though, everyone has a valid point and i think i'm confusing myself more!! i was thinking exactly the same as you......may have to toss a coin!? Will have to go and sleep on this one, thanks for your help:)

@trude Holy Cow! Don't start the new year on the 29th! It will be FOUR YEARS before you can finish on that same day1 ;~}
February 25th, 2012
@grammyn LOL-love it!
February 25th, 2012
YOU decide. It's YOUR project. You can finish on day 364 or 367 if you feel like it, just to be awkward!

Personally, if I'd started on 1/3/11 I would probably upload a 29/2/12 photo, but that's just me.
February 25th, 2012
I would finish the day it says 100%... whatever it is....
February 25th, 2012
and if you plan on continuing, then post on the 29th. Your count will continue as long as you keep on posting.
February 25th, 2012
I myself plan on taking Feb 29th off, though I don't know if a hole in my project will send me over the edge or not. :-)
February 25th, 2012
I'm trying to think of something extra special I could do for my Feb 29th pic because its a once every 4 year occasion :-)
February 25th, 2012
@trude - Very glad to hear that Trude! Feel like i'm losing friends left and right these days. I think when my time comes I would do one of those "semi-retired" but post a few pics per week type of deals. This way time of other things and not that daily pressure to post.
February 25th, 2012
I started January 1st and will do 366 images. I believe it began as a "capture a year" concept and I will be capturing my leap year.
February 25th, 2012
I'm going to do a 366 year too, I finish towards the end of April. I reckoned it could be an excuse to do two celebration shots, one for 365 and one for 366!

And February 29 is an ordinary working day - no extras to enjoy here
February 26th, 2012
@shanne thanks, i finding it hard to think of a good shot for one day!! But i think i may do the same:)
February 26th, 2012
@parisouailleurs @bobfoto @5unflow3r @5unflow3r @branwensmith @echoia thanks all! I think i will go to the 29th:)
February 26th, 2012
@trude I was going to do a collage for the last one - as a 366 - and not sure what - keep having ideas
February 27th, 2012
I would think the 29th would be your last day for year 1. You start on year 2 on the 1st. Your first year just happens to have an extra day, while those of us who are past the first year will have whatever year we're working on have 366. Or you can decide to take the day off. ;-)

Being in the second year, I am more interested in the total number of shots I've taken and looking back. Milestones like one month, 100, six months, 200, 300, one year, 400, 500, etc. become little celebrations. If I had to celebrate only once a year, that would be a bit boring.

And why stop at a year! I'm patiently waiting for the 5 and 10 year mark but I'll need a new camera by then. It becomes a routine for sure.
