I have a Olympus E-420 (I know there are not many of us=), and I am looking for a macro lens to purchase. Do you Olympus users have any suggestions of what you like? Also are there any "off-brand" lens that might be cheaper that you are happy with? Thanks for your input!!
the two standard Oly macro lenses are the 35mm f3.5 and the 50mm f2.8. I use the 35mm and it is my second favourite lens after my 70-300mm. Before the 365 project I only used the 35mm on its own but the 365 encouraged me to use my 35mm attached to my 2x converter which gave me a 70mm macro at f7.0
The f7.0 was pretty high so I started to use my inbuilt flash and eventually I bought a Ring Flash with adapter.
I love my 35mm but I do think longingly at the 50mm, and I would possibly buy the 50mm if I had the greens at the moment.
Take a look at my first year, my 2011 365 Project because 80% of the shots are taken with the 35mm with 2x converter combo.
