New York City Archival Photos

April 29th, 2012
It's evident from the popularity of my NYC photos that many 365ers enjoy seeing pics of the Big Apple. Well this past week the NYC Municipal Archives unveiled a new website with over 800,000 never seen before photos, maps, collections, etc going back to the mid 1800s depicting everyday life in NYC, bridge and construction projects, gangland killings, sports etc.

Dixie (@pandorasecho) was kind enough to provide this link to an article that posts some of the extraordinary photos: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2134408/Never-seen-photos-100-years-ago-tell-vivid-story-gritty-New-York-City.html

The direct link to the archive is here, but is regularly crashing from overload: http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/gallery/home.shtml
