The family of the young boy have said the response has been too overwhelming - please read Niknak's post in the thread. A sincere thankyou to everyone who did respond, but I'm removing the details now.
Guys, this is NOT a hoax, but the family have now been inundated with post cards. I wrote to the people collecting them & this was the reply I got:-
This is not a hoax unfortunately, however Charlie is close to reaching his
target of postcards now which is brilliant so we dont need the message
passed on anymore. This could get too overwhelming for the parents who are
already coping with too much. If you could put this on to any "wall" to get
the message accross to stop now this would also be very helpful. In my
original letter I asked people to email their friends to keep the word
"small" and therefore was not expecting a facebook appeal and the response
we are getting, not that we are ungrateful but just that it may upset the
family who are incredibly private people, hope you understand.
Thank you so much for making the effort to check, we very much appreciate it
With best wishes

Hi a friend of mine knows some that has unfortunately been through the same terrible ordeal that this poor family is now facing, and she has told me of a trust that was set up to help these poor families. Oliver curd trust
I don't know if they can help at all but might be worth looking into.
@azza_l Thanks for posting this Aaron, i was planning to get a postcard this afternoon, but won't need to do that now! You just can't trust anyone these days.
From what I read, it's real but this has gone viral and they can't handle all the attention. It's become overwhelming. I find it really interesting how social media can make things happen in a short amount of time. I took down my posts.
