Must have shots Anchorage, Vegas and Boise

June 14th, 2012
I have my next three plane tickets booked for Anchorage, Vegas and Boise. I'm always looking for great places to shoot and am looking for suggestions.

Anchorage will be June 17/18 and then to Cordova, AK for most of a week. I'll be in Vegas mid-July and Boise in August.

The only one I have been to is Vegas...of course you can get some fantastic street shots, but try to go to the top of the Eifel tower at night, the lights are amazing! The Bellagio Hotel has a water show in front but if you go in through the main lobby they always the most amazing room of seasonal flowers...it is just gorgeous! Also go to the Shoppes at the Forum in Ceasars Palace, great replicas of Roman statues. Each hotel has their own mini attraction so just look around when you get there. Hope you have a great trip!

For Idaho, try and get to Craters of the Moon.
Vegas, go west to Red Rocks in early early morning for best light and coolest temps. Death Valley is also amazing but really really hot

I love Las Vegas! The city that allows for entertainment by seeing top-named shows to day trips ...people-watching.

BTW - Death Valley is awesome - but now closed for the summer - too hot for safety.
Enjoy your trips!

@miley89 I think I have a couple of decades of age on me. I'm sure by the time you hit my age you'll have traveled a but more. ;-)

@groovygirlrn @brumbe @dmortega Thanks for all the Vegas area/Arizona tips. After a few days in Vegas I will be heading over to Dolan Springs. AZ so can hit some of that scenery too.

@brumbe Craters of the Moon looks cool. The Boise trip is a long weekend to visit my sister, so probably can't make it that far out this trip, but maybe another time.

absolutely do Fremont Street in Vegas... your best street photography shots will be there. Keep your eyes peeled on the sidewalks on the strip... you'll find interesting people sometimes there as well. I recommend also going to the top of the Stratosphere - great view from up there.

Vegas is as good as it gets for awesome photo ops. Every where you look and around every corner there is somthing interesting, whether it is street photography or structures. Night photography will be awesome, try to get across the hiway looking back at the Paris hotel... there is a body of water out there that you can get some great reflection on.
