Borrow Lenses?

Hey all!

I have been pondering about borrowing a lens or two over the upcoming holiday season to help me decide what lens I maybe would like to purchase in the future and was wondering if any of you have borrowed from borrowlenses.com?

I'm just curious how your experience was (from a customer service standpoint) and would you use it again in the future? It seems to be legitimate; the only thing I'm not thrilled about is the shipping, but I guess the price makes sense considering they are shipping lenses in two days.

I've never done this via a company, but I have taken a telephoto "for a test drive" when I went on a trip to Europe, to see if I wanted to buy the lens from a friend of mine. I thought it was a good idea, because it was hard to tell how the lens's new settings worked for me until I had ample time to experiment with it. I would recommend it if you haven't already worked with a lens similar to the one you have in mind.

LensRentals.com is supposed to be awesome. I have yet to use them, but if I'm ever in the market to rent a lens, that's who I would look at first.

I have never rented but I have several semi-pro and pro photographer friends that have rented from borrowlenses.com and they continue to rent from them. Guess that's a recommendation.

I have rented from LensRentals.com several times, and I am very happy with them. I had a problem with an order once - scratches on the lens, and they quickly agreed to either overnight another lens or remove the charge if I decided to keep it and it affected the pictures. I did keep it, and it did not affect the pictures, but the service offer impressed me.
