A couple that are good friends of ours has asked me to take their Christmas pictures!! Had to share because this is my first time shooting someone else. I'm doing a little happy dance but I'm nervous already!
Really awesome, lady! Congrats. Hope that it goes well. You are really talented and capable. I would love it for you to shoot our family, too (if you were closer).
Congratulations! I have just started doing them recently too and it went better than I expected. My one piece of advice is to get a lot of variety in poses. That was the one thing I wish I had dine better. Best of luck. Can't wait to see how it turnaround out.
I am looking around for different pose ideas and putting them on my phone so I won't forget. Is that an okay idea to have my phone for reference in case I forget?
That's so great! :) First shoot is always so nerveracking, but it's exhilarating at the same time :) I did my first paid one in March of this year... I was nervous in the lead-up but I had so much fun :) You'll do a great job!
Congratulations! Just a few tips I learned along the way: Always have an extra memory card and charged battery (If this is your first shoot, fully charge your battery and format your memory card ) Do lots of poses in different spots if possible. Shoot from different perspectives (up high, down low) Take lots and lots and I mean lots of photos, put your camera on continuous shooting. This will give you the best chance for getting great pics in between the eyes closed and wandering heads. ha ha
Make sure your white balance is set correctly if you dont shoot in auto. Use a lens hood if you are shooting outside (sun flare can ruin/make a photo)
Relax and take charge. Definitely use the photos on your phone for reference. They will understand since its your first shoot.
Hope these help. Have a great time and congrats!!!
@superbeyotch Thank you for all those great tips!! It isn't going to be a huge shoot, she just wanted a few shots, but I'm ready to go all out with it LOL
@amandalomonaco Thanks dear!! I totally would. Maybe *one* day ;)
@tryeveryday Thanks doll! :)

The first one will *probably* be the most nervous; relax and enjoy it as much as your subjects will.
