Now I know there was a post about this the other day but I want to put it out there again. Photoshop CS2 is Free!! for a limited time. If you want it here is the link.
I am a massive fan of photoshop, so I am going to add some shameless self promotion here too lol, feel free to do the same if you are a photoshop fan :D
@tracywilliams Thx for the info.. I have had photoshop for a year now and have been to afraid to dive in. I have been looking for classes to take. I love your work. You have so many creative photos.
Tracy, You are the Master! haha!! Incredible post processing...
Shirley, I am just self-learning a few very simple procedures, and really hope that one day I can understand how to create pictures using (what I call) cut and paste.
You have many fabulous shots; I have seen them on the PP page - congrats!
@shirljess I've done Kims Essentials, Round trip(lightroom and photoshop) and Beyond layers classes (I'm not on commision, nothing to gain by mentioning it). I already knew how to do some basic stuff but now know a lot more. I don't think I'll ever catch Tracy up but I'm enjoying it and sticking with the Beyond layers for a second year. http://www.kimklassencafe.com/photoshopecourses/
@shirljess Thanks Shirley, it can be a bit intimidating and I don't think you ever learn all there is to know. I think classes are a great idea, I have considered taking a few myself :D
@manek43509 Thanks Kit, I haven't downloaded it myself as I already own CS5 extended but I gave the link to a couple of people whom downloaded it no problem, the keys are provided right next to the download links.
@tracywilliams Thank you sooo much!! Ive been wanting photoshop for the longest time on my computer and the only time i could use it was at school! Your editing is amazing by the way :) I'd love to hear some of your tricks ;)
@vorka I am pretty sure it is, as stated above the serial numbers are right there beside the download links. Every one on deviantart is raving about it too :D
@jsw0109 The birthday boy should get all the exposure he wants today :D HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF! I hope the next year of your life brings you endless creativity & happiness. I hope all your dreams come true :D
Yep! All good, I was a bit confused at first because I thought I was downloading the Creative Suite at the top of the list but the 3rd last entry is the Photoshop only download.
I played a bit last night, looking forward to doing some creative stuff with it.
@tracywilliams The way I understand it is that it is free to download but illegal to use unless you have a licence, which means that you need to have paid for it at some point in the past.
@wormentude wow that doesn't make sense to me, cause if you have already paid for it then you would already have the keys etc to use as once you have paid for it once then you own it. Hence you wouldn't need to download it again. But then again I am not the brightest bulb in the shed lol I am totally under the impression that it would be bad for their business to give it away free with serial codes and all then turn around and say you had to of purchased it before in the past. Thanks though, maybe everyone should check the fine print, I own cs5 extended because I bought it, I was just trying to share for those who can't afford it.
You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!
What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don't require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.) See .
You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!

Though I am surprised Adobe still allow the download from that page, or made a more official announcement considering how viral this has gone.
@jase_h So if I buy a new computer and need to re-install my cs5 that I bought would I need to buy a new key or will the ones that came with my software work?
@tracywilliams I'm assuming they have done this for where people purchased CS2 online, then downloaded it with a key which had to be entered into the activation server at the point of install. So as they never had any physical media i.e the cd, that is why the product download is there, and because the activation servers are not online any more they needed to also provide a key for those people as well?
But as Adobe seem to be unwilling to as what the actual situation is then who know's. It has certainly driven a lot of traffic to websites and companies do like having people visit there website, just sayin;
its my understanding that the whole "on behalf of Adobe..." is actually from a third party and that CS2 is indeed free and legal to use.... HOWEVER... if you wanted to upgrade from CS2 to a newer version, you would have to purchase the newer version at full price. Keep in mind that the newest CS6 has a deal where you can legally use it for under $20/mo without purchasing it and that if you have ANY Photoshop product (including Elements), there is a deal from adobe for CS5 for $299 (although for the link to go directly to that deal, you would have to follow the link Adobe emailed to you... I tried linking it to a couple of friends and it redirected to somewhere else on the Adobe website, so there's no point in linking here). I'm thinking Adobe is going to finally come out with some affordable CS products because they're trying all sorts of things to get people to get the software (and my guess is the CS2 thing is to get a person to download it and start using it for free, get hooked and frustrated beause it won't work as well as newer versions, and then they'll get the newer versions)
@jase_h as many websites I've been to in the past week, I can't remember which one I saw it on, and I didn't find it important enough to bookmark, but there was one that stated it wasn't really the person it was credited to that stated its not free
@jase_h and what I read could have been completely wrong... I don't know... but it woudln't be the first time someone was posted on the internet credited to someone that didn't say it. I do know there was a tweet from someone at adobe that started the whole chitter chatter on the internet in the first place by insinuating in the tweet that it they were making that version free to anyone, and maybe this other thing was a retraction... I imagine at some point it will be news that will be splashed everywhere you turn that will set the record straight
@jsw0109 The link I posted is Adobe's official forum and you can clearly see it his Adobe Staff account that posted it, I would be surprised if his account had been compromised, the post made and it still be there..
However, I absolutely LOVE your Photoshopping work - great editing!!

Bed time; will attempt again tomorrow.
Some nice new features compared to my old Photoshop 7 (before CS).
