Hey, soooo, after speaking with several different framing and then printing shops in Toronto, I'm having a wee bit of panic here. I've been selected as runner-up in the Toronto Urban Photography Festival - and will have 3 pieces showing as a series (The Human Element) in the resulting exhibit. SUPER stoked about that, BUT, due to judging delays, I've been left with very little time to have the pieces printed, shipped, then matted and framed for said exhibit. Does anyone know of a good online source for both printing and framing, preferably in Canada or the US. I'm leaning towards perhaps drymounting the pieces on plaqueboard for more cost effective shipping, but haven't 100 percent decided yet. Anyways, basically what I'm looking for is an online source that will do both printing and framing/or mounting and then ship directly to the gallery in Toronto - in a timely manner. (I have until March 7th to get them there). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you ever so much.
You might contact directly the support people at www.fullcolor.com. They do full professional mounting, and might have a timeline that is accurate. I have used them, but for prints only. Be careful to opt out of in-house color correcting.......
@mej2011 that's what I sound like when I panic, lol. But I just got off the phone with a very nice gentleman in Toronto who was amazingly helpful and it's all sorted! Thanks @russianblue for the fb message and help:)
Congratulations! That is so awesome...would be even more awesome if you could see them hanging in the exhibit in person, but still so cool! You should be really proud of yourself!
@paula365@tryeveryday@summerfield@harley84 thanks all:) To answer your questions: the exhibit will be at the Norman Felix gallery - at Queen and Bathurst, here's a link for them: http://normanfelix.com/
Opening night is March 9th. Would be awesome if any 365'ers are able to attend in my stead:)
None of the pieces selected are in my project, but once I get even remotely, slightly organized, I'll post a link on my profile for the shots. I'm a little (okay, a LOT) unorganized at the moment though:)
@westcoastwallis - yes, would love to see which photos they are so it's easy for me to identify them. i'll set the date aside and will check the website. it's actually very near my office. maybe i can convince @russianblue@northy@roth@shutterbugger@slang to finally have a meet up to see the event. i hope you could come though so we can meet you. i'd lend you my broom but it only flies during halloween! :-)
I'm of no help, obviously. I just had to read because I had no idea what "Haalp" translated too. lol
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and Congrats and all that jazz. :)
It's far enough that you'd have to FLY??????????
@mej2011 Melissa, you could walk, but seeing that it is winter the legs could get stiff. If it was summer, no problem!
You have NO idea how hard I'm trying not to make a "walking" joke right now. :)
Walking or flying???? Do you not have cars in Toronto? lol
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I don't think I've EVER spent that many days in a car at one time.
