Your first attempt is very nice, but I find myself more drawn to the mason jar than the flower.

You know...I agree with you about the jar! Thanks for the feedback. Here's another one I did with the jar in even more prominence. I like it better than my first. What do you think?

I really like both of them. The bokeh is not overwhelming your image, the pink contrast to the green and glass is simple (which is good). The jar is clear in contrast to the soft petals. So many different elements to consider. I love shooting glass rims. If you get a chance, you might want to try lying the jar on it's side and placing the flower inside it... cropping some of the rim out. I did this one a while back and was quite pleased with the outcome.
