Night Filters....do they exist?

September 18th, 2010
Folks/Camera boffins alike..

I've been taking a few nights taking shots recently when on long exposure and I've had to remove my basic UV filter as its give some reflection back on the picture itself. First time it it showed some thing up side down (a triangular traffic sign) and then tonight a reflection of itself (circular type disc), very bizarre. Has anyone come across this in night shots? Is there such a a thing a night filter? or is this just a case of messing with the settings as it didn't do it on all of my pics...I'm a bit reluctant to keep taking the filter for obvious reasons of dust/scratches.

I could just search the web, but I thought I would ask...

Thanks in advance.

I did a quick search and it looks like they do. I just don't know what to suggest to you. I found some under astrophotography. Another person here that might know is http://365project.org/filipl/365/2010-07-15 . He has great long exposure images.
