Updgrading to Nikon D7100

June 11th, 2013
I just hit the button to get the Nikon D7100. Currently I shoot with a Nikon D90. I'm so excited. Does anyone here have experience with the D7100? I also got a new macro lens (the 60mm one). Amazon is having a 4% rebate on camera purchases right now (not everything, but lots of stuff) so between that and the Nikon rebate, it was a good price.

Now it's time to purge. I have a D40, D80, and D90 and some lenses to sell. I debated for the longest time between the D600 and the D7100. I was ready to jump into the full frame world, but the D7100 seems to have a lot of what I'm looking for and the prices is much lower.

It should be here tomorrow.......YIPPPPE! I'll post an update after I get a chance to play with it.

@snipsnap i got a d90 also and rented a d600 for a wedding and it was AMAZING compared to the d90 lol. But i just dont have 2 grand and hopefully will be getting the d7100 soon as well. looks like a good upgrade but the d90 still rocks for its age. Let us know how you like it. Congrats

I moved to the D7100 in January from the D45 and am LOVING it! Enjoy.

I rented the D7100 two weeks ago for a long week end. I shoot currently with a D5100, and am sorely tempted to upgrade. It handles beautifully and has lots of great stuff in it that your D90 doesn't, and my D5100. Staying with an APS-C camera will allow you to reuse all your existing lenses which you couldn't to the full extent of the D600. Good shooting.

I have had my D7100 for 5 days now and it is wonderful - the best purchase that I have ever made! I love it and it really does produce great looking pics. I would recommend it to anyone

I've recently upgraded from D90. The D7100 is great, but I've had a few problems mastering the autofocus system which is very different from that on the D90. I'm getting good results now though & am very pleased with it.

I think I'm in love. I need to play a lot more, but the first few images are fantastic. There are so many more details than with the D90. I just posted a quick shot I took...I didn't even let the battery charge up all the way--BAD ME!

Yes, the auto focus seems so different and the feel of the shutter actuation is really different. I'm going outside right now with a different lens (105mm micro/macro).
