Help - lines on photo after upload

Anyone know what could be causing this? This has happened to all the photos I've tried to upload tonight and they all look fine in PSE and the Windows previewer...

I had to zoom in, It looks like he is standing on one and hanging onto the other?

@bulldog - I'm with Bulldog. He's holding on! No idea what the problem is though...

It might be your memory card. Have you formatted it lately? Try formatting and see if they show up again, if they do, try shooting with another card and see if it happens there.

@riverlandphotos I'll give it a try, but it's only showing up in the jpeg and only once it's been uploaded to here…

I am not sure why they look fine in some viewers, but lines like that normally indicates that the camera sensor is going bad. Lines, colour casts and image distortion are all signs towards it.

To help find out, format the memory card and see if it happens again. Try other memory cards too..Then if possible, borrow another camera with the same memory card/s and see if it happens. At least that way you can find out for sure if its the memory card or camera.

@bulldog @bobfoto @riverlandphotos @blightygal Just tried reuploading it this morning and it seems fine now:

Not sure what caused the problem there but glad it's not my camera! Thanks for all your help though guys, I appreciate it :)

@benjamaphone - sorcery.

Kinda like the first shot when the little guy was hanging onto the line.

@bobfoto Haha must be - it's the only logical explanation!

I guess we should have just told you to turn your computer off and on and flip a lightswitch. Sometimes cursing just isn't enough.

@riverlandphotos The lowest tech solution usually turns out to be the best! Did have a mild panic that some part of my kit had broken or was on its way out - very relieved now! :)

If it looks OK in PSE under magnification (ignore Windows previewer-its probably not showing a full resolution image) then its not the image on the card. As the lines are totally horizontal it looks more like corruptions in the image data as you uploaded the file. It's not uncommon. It could be caused by various things such as a poor or "noisy" internet connection, a dodgy cable or connection between card reader/camera/PC, spikes on the power supply in your home(maybe you had a washing machine, or something else turned on at the same time as when you were uploading), heavy traffic to the upload site, or just a glitch.

@pistonbroke Thanks Pete, it's pretty annoying but as long as it's not damage to the actual images I guess I can live with it!
