Search box

The search box in the top corner of my home page doesn't seem to work. I can write a subject in the box, for instance I wanted to see the latest info on the Manchester Meet Up but when I typed the name in & clicked the search button nothing happens. I have to scroll through pages & pages of discussions before I get to the stuff I want. This surely can't be right & there must be an easier simpler way.
Am I being stupid or is there something else I should be doing. Will be very grateful for help & advice.

@happypat Hi Pat. I just typed in Manchester and got the Manchester Meet Up as the first entry. I then tested it out putting "Manchester Meet Up" in quotes and that didn't work at all but the one that did work was to type in Manchester.meet.up (with full stops / periods in between each word) That worked for me and gave your chosen meet up as #1 in the results page.

@steampowered Ah I have just tried it & for the first time got something. Instead of just typing in the words & clicking on search I pressed ENTER on the key board & my answer came up!! Will try it with other things & see how I go. Thanks so much Paul...I thought it might be me doing something wrong!!

@happypat Search boxes are notorious for coming up with stuff that you don't want!

I have found that hitting the enter button on my keypad is the only way I get a result. I've not had any luck hitting the search icon at the edge of the search box.
