The Fairmount Heritage Foundation is offering the opportunity to spend a few hours photographing their cemeteries under the full moon on September 8th and October 8th. The September 8th session will be held at Riverside Cemetery and the October 8th session will be at Fairmount Cemetery. I've been to both, and they are absolutely incredible! Riverside is filled with zinc funerary statues, decaying monuments, and a handful of mausoleums while Fairmount is where all of Denver's wealthy went after death - there are so many mausoleums, gorgeous trees, chapels, it's one of my favorite places in the city!
Tickets to each event cost $25 and go towards supporting the Foundation's effort to preserve both cemeteries and educate the public about the people who are buried there and the times in which they lived. Not only is it a great opportunity to support such an incredible organization, but you'll also be taking photos....in a cemetery....in the Fall....under a full moon.What's not to like?
Beautiful. I would love to, but unfortunately can't make that kind of a trip. We have a cemetery like that here. Maybe I can talk them into it.. muhahaha
@cindyloo Check to see if there's a non-profit dedicated to the cemetery's preservation - it could be a fundraising opportunity they've never thought of before. Best of luck!
