I was posting some images in my 365 when a fellow 365 friend mentioned it was definitely a bucket list shot. I hadn't realized it until that point, but she was correct. Over the past 3 or 4 years I've actually had a few bucket list vacations, but they don't qualify for my 365.
They don't have to be your "best" shots. Mine was blurry straight out of the camera from the wrong side of the train. I'm just curious on where other people have been and/or experienced.

Mt. Fuji via Bullet Train en route to Tokyo, Japan

likewise, not so confident that it was spectacularly captured (at least not compared to how amazing/beautiful the whole place was in person) but Barcelona in general & Park Güell specifically were definitely places on my "bucket list"
@kdwy I've read on "capturing" locations. I personally have a poor ability to do so. Nothing is like actually being there. I think it's because cameras (at least ones I can afford) have trouble capturing the amount of depth. Plus when you are there you feel, see, and hear things that are not in the image right?
I think your photograph is spectacular actually, thanks for sharing.
@slava that looks poetic. So many places I want to go. I hate that I don't like to fly. If only everywhere could be traveled to via bullet train. Thanks for sharing, looks like it was an amazing experience.
@laceyjogautreau to be honest I had read about bucket lists but never bothered to make my own. I thought it was for people with time and money. Some of the things I've seen on my "done bucket list" have been parts of cheaper more spontaneous vacations. "Let's go to Kennedy Space Center to watch a shuttle launch while we're at Disney" why? Well it's only an hour away, why not?
@cw24 that's fantastic composition! I hope I get one like that while I'm here in Tokyo! My first shot of Tokyo was of the train station, nothing to write home about haha.
i lied! this one was definitely on my bucket list. i had passed by this place for years, and knew i always wanted to take a photo, but was just too nervous. It is an old dilapidated, abandoned looking building that looks like it might fall down at any moment. After starting this project, i knew i had to go there, and wouldn't you know, as soon as i started shooting, the owner pulls in the parking lot. He just kind of gave me a weird look, and i explained how fascinated i was by the building, and asked if i could get a photo. I charmed him into not kicking me off of his property. :) actually, he was really cool, and he told me the building was a dry keel where they stored lumber from the old saw mill across the street to dry out. his house happened to be behind the building, down a dirt road. sorry for the long story, but that is how i got this bucket list shot.
@laceyjogautreau actually the story to go with it is fascinating. I still get super shy. I see things I want to take pictures of every day. I'm still learning the Japanese culture though and I don't really know what is accepted and what is not. On the flipside of that, I bug my friend on here everyday to "just do it!" I guess because within the first month of being here I was chased off by two nationals saying "no no no!!!" and waving their hands about.
@silverdraggin that's exactly it! every once in a while a really great photograph captures not just the image but the energy of a place or event, but i think it must be at LEAST 50% luck along with talent, etc.
@kdwy Wasn't Barcelona amazing? I wish I'd brought my digital on that trip... I was still shooting film when I traveled at that point. I think the magic fountains and La Sagrada Familia were my favorites.
@melissapike yes, absolutely incredible. i was only there for 2 days but what a whirlwind exerience! the magic fountain was actually closed for construction but even so the view of the city at night from the steps of the museum was gorgeous (and one i did NOT manage to capture as well as I did Park Güell)
@cw24 woo times square! great photo, although w/ the selective coloring it actually looks to me like there are LESS advertisements than I put there in my mind's eye lol
@maceugenio that first shot with the sails and the sunset is amazing! I keep fighting with myself on whether or not I want to go to Philippines. There keeps being traveler warnings and all that jazz.
@silverdraggin ah nahhhhh Philippines is a safe and a wondrous place. that's the beach where brad pitt and angelina jolie went..a nd they didn't die.. right? =) Philippines has soooo much to offer.. you'll definitely enjoy here.. ^_^
@silverdraggin - that's a shame, Jasper's really pretty and tranquile - one of the last "perfect" spots in my opinion. You should make a holiday of it one time.
Seeing Stone Henge was definitely on my bucket list when we came to live in the UK for our 3 year stay. How pleased we were when we found it blanketed in snow!... check!
The London Eye by night was very high on my list ... check!
@kezzam 2 amazing locals and fantastic photographs! How lucky! @maceugenio Me too, I just don't have the budget for it. I occasionaly admire it on the internet.
