I'm finally home from vacation and that means the end of the ROCK - Mundane challenge is near. If you have an entry, please tag it mundane-rock or post it on the challenge's thread http://365project.org/discuss/general/25959/new-mundane-challenge-rock#comment-745716. I will choose the top five finalists and post them for voting within the next couple of days.
On a side note: One of the reasons I chose ROCK as the topic for the mundane challenge was because I knew I'd be spending lots of time looking at rocks while on vacation. I was definitely not wrong about that. The western United States is covered with rocks - BIG ONES! It was fun hiking through Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Arches National Park, and Zion National Park. While I can't enter one of my own photos into the contest, I thought it would be fun to post one here. Enjoy!
@dejongdd Deb, I was the one confused. I didn't realize that there were two competitions that focused on rocks. Abstract, which is the one that I am a finalist, and the mundane, I wish I would have realized that because I LOVE rocks. I have many pictures that I could have used. Didn't have to use the same one. By the way, your pictures have been gorgeous. That's my type of vacation!
@dejongdd Deb, Sorry to be such a bother. I went back and found out where I got confused. Totally, my fault. Do I need to withdraw from this competition? I feel really bad that I made this mistake.
@aat3877 I don't see why a photo can't fit in two categories. I'm throwing the rules out the window and leaving your photo in. There is nothing etched in stone here. If a prize were awarded other than bragging rights, I could see pulling a photo. But that's not the case. I'm hosting the challenge, therefore I should have the right to choose which photos I want in it.
