The last 6 weeks have been really hard for me where this project is concerned. I have been taking photos 2-3x / week rather than daily (and while I hadn't been perfect before, I was much closer to a true-photo-a-day type of uploading). I think, mostly, I've determined it is due to winter... loss of daylight hours means I leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark. And I love natural light photos. I just haven't felt very creative lately.... Anyone else?
I have the creativity but the last week I have been sick(or recovering) and have not been able to take pics like I want to. lol It is harder towards the end of the year though. I really like following the themes and trying to do them now because they make me narrow my focus instead of getting distracted then getting nothing I want to post.
Oh, and I am with you on liking natural light best but I have become addited to christmas bokeh. It is a new take on indoor photography for me.
It's been harder... Harder to get out of the house for picture taking. Harder to get outside during good light without freezing to death. Harder to find the creativity. Harder on my back because I lug my camera around in my purse just incase I find something to shoot. Give it six months and we'll be complaining that it's too hot to get outside for good pictures. :)
Yea, i'm really picky about taking my camera out. The smallest bit of snow keeps it inside. And I always fear that i'll somehow drop it, with or without the neck band, because i'm terribly clumsy.
i'm not sure about finding it harder in the winter, becuase its summer here lol, but i have found it hard recently due to all the rain and storms we've had for a solid week, finally clearing today, and i was sick lol. its hard to kick your mind into gear though, i totally understand :-/
I've been having a really hard time with it- in fact I missed a couple of weeks. Its been gray and cold and I got tired of taking pictures inside my place. Definitely difficult for the inspiration and motivation!
Definitely harder for me, it's bitingly cold here in the UK. Whilst that throws up some unique wintry photo opportunities, it's so cold I don't want to take advantage of them!
I have the same problem, long work days and shorter daylight limits opportunities . . . and there is only so much of interest in my house! Winter doldrums too, even in the daylight its been gray and gloomy here . . .
I am finding the project harder due to the shorter days and not being able to be outside during the daylight hours due to being inside at work. So I have to come up with "inside" set up shots.
It's harder for me as it's more gray and gloomy, and on those days in between snow everything looks terribly ugly. I try to find stuff around the house in a pinch.
Yes, it's more challenging when the landscape is one color but I think it can help one to see the beauty in smaller elements and in different ways of seeing...with that said...thank heavens for the holidays which provide excitement and color!
Yup, it's definitely hard to do some days (very MANY days for me!). However, as long as I remind myself that each photo doesn't have to be a work of art that's popular with the viewers, I'm doing okay. For me personally, as long as I have a camera in hand and just shoot something, ANYTHING, that helps me in the long run.
:-)
It's mindnumbingly cold in England right now. All the snow can be so sodding picturesque that I find I'm pulling my camera out more often. Just taking a couple of photos is enough to freeze your little fingers off. Still, we suffer for our art...
I think Winter is the best time! well at least for me because it means a change of scenery. I just got back from college so even though I am back in my own house I'm seeing different things than just my college campus, so I got more creativity right now!
I agree....harder when it's so dark and so friggin cold!! I did realize that I have very few outdoor photos during the winter and the 365 project has really brought that to my attention....makes me try harder to capture the seasons and not stay so closed up indoors
Same here. I only see daylight outside our office window. I leave early and get home late due to my 2 hour commute. I don't take pictures everyday but I try to take as many pictures as I can, when I can then use it within a week. I try not to stress myself to much with this project because it's suppose to be fun not add stress to your already stressful life.
definitely - difficult when it's so grey and gloomy. I was musing today that the past ten days or so look like i have shot in B&W (although some are - the others are because there is no natural colours!!). I'm determined to try and find some bright colours around me at home - the supermarket - anything to try and brighten things up a bit.
Oh yes! I wandered around looking for a picture to take today because there was nothing to take a picture of outside. And I haven't gone anywhere new lately. And its cold out and blah. My camera and I just aren't getting along lately.
