One week in...

January 10th, 2011
As a self-confessed procrastinator I signed up to 365 Project as yet another motivational tool to help keep me going through the year and also keep my collection in one easy-to-find place.

I didn't expect the community to be so supportive and inspirational. I love the range of experience among the members, the lack of snobbery and the helpful nature of so many of you.

Although I very much doubt I'll need three albums or additional stats, I've upgraded to Ace Membership as a way of saying thank you for providing such a welcoming community.

355 to go...

@spionkopred I've done the same today, upgraded my membership! I really like it here, it's a fabulous community. I'm struggling today, but I'm going to have a browse through for inspiration!

I look forward to seeing your 355 pics :)

Welcome! This is a great place!

I did my first 365 last year but just joined the community this week. I'm loving the constant feedback from everybody. Definitely the best photography community I've been a part of. I wish I would have started January 1 of 2010 instead.

Thank you @lynnmwatson

@minxymissk , I have found myself under pressure to maintain a standard following a photo I've been happy with, but I don't think that's necessary. The standard will naturally improve over time, at least that's what I'm hoping!

Totally agree 100% @musicguy1982, but it doesn't matter one bit which day of the year you start - the Gregorian Calendar is just a list of dates.

@spionkopred I think that's it...I don't want my pictures to get worse! Although my initial goal is just to take a photo each day to record that day somehow, so a day like today, when I've felt like crap, been stuck indoors and done pretty much nothing, so inspiration was always going to be a challenge lol!

I'll look forward to seeing you improve ;)

I too would love to upgrade. Maybe soon. I am in agreement about the utter lack of snobbery. So nice to be in a community that is so wonderful. I found a site that offered good advice...to professionals. If you were not, they stuck their noses up and got kinda nasty. So much better here! I love your photos btw. I am following you now. :)

Yay! Tis fun, no?! :)

I completely agree! The community here has given me so much motivation to do this 365. When I started I was just looking for somewhere easy to upload my photos and was hoping I would have the desire to make it to the end. I have found so much here.

This is surely the best place on the internet!...

I agree .. this place is great! I upload pictures to several other sites where no one ever comments on any photos. A real lack of "community"
I started my 365 last year in June, but failed around the end of September due to personal circumstances. This year I started on day one and despite the weather preventing me getting out on some days, have managed to find some inspiration.
I have also upgraded to Ace membership, so that I can keep my photos from last year, I am quite proud of some of them and received great feedback from the lovely members on this project. There is a lot of inspiration and encouragement for beginners/amateurs from the more experienced and no one is looked down on.
The bonus for me, in the UK, the exchange rate is extremely favourable at present. So if you haven't done it yet, what are you waiting for?
Looking forward to getting the know the "newbies" and seeng more great inspirational shots from the "oldies"

I've never taken a picture every single day. Maybe a coupe of times a week. This is definitely a different way of living. ;-)

I also usually don't comment on blog posts or even photos, but I have been doing a lot of it on this site. I hope people don't mind my random thoughts of what I see in their pictures. I think of it as another point of view that could be useful to the person taking it, and other viewers. You see your picture one way, but other points of view can be really valuable. Commenting also helps me appreciate the picture more myself, and understand what I like in a picture.

Lastly, the restriction of only one picture a day is interesting. I would love to share more, but at the same time, less is more. Picking one is a fun challenge.

Into my 2nd year, I am in complete agreement about this wonderful community of helpful, enthusiastic and down-to-earth people. No matter what level of expertise they have, members are willing to answer questions, provide tips on improving pictures and never, never disparage a comment or question. Apparently that is not the case on all photography sites so I feel very lucky that this is the project I signed up for. And like Gary I became an ace to "put my money where my mouth was" and have never regretted it. In fact only after I gained access to the extras of ace membership, did I realize they were bonuses worth having.

@jeancarl Sometimes even finding one is hard....other days I struggle to whittle them down! It's part of the challenge for me!

I love reading the discussions then getting lost in other people's photos.
