Saving Your 365 Project

January 11th, 2011
I was thinking of putting a book together of all my 365 images once I'm done in October. Is Shutterfly.com the best option?

blurb is a strong #1 or 2

I love Shutterfly's books, have made several (not 365, just vacations, events, calendar years, etc.) and they are great quality!

I asked a similar question on the boards a day or two ago, and Blurb was the most common response. The most interesting one was a woman who said she had a molskine daily diary, and every day she printed her photo and pasted it in to that day's page. Snapfish was panned as a vendor for photo books. Shutterfly ran middle of the road among those who responded to me.

@hjvanriper @genesislomax @lynnmwatson @icywarm

Not sure if any of you have used them, but www.picaboo.com has some pretty awesome photo books! you can use SO many different layouts, SO many different backgrounds, even using your own photos for the background and / or the cover. That being said, I haven't used blurb (yet!)

picaboo has too many templates for me... i enjoy the blank page... and publishing options... hard/soft/cover all of same book. @dawnetta

Just did one up on Shutterfly...had a cupon for a free 8inch, 20 page book...cost me 6.99 only for shipping to Canada.

Thanks for posting this, such a great idea!

@icywarm trying blurb is definitely on my to-do list! I may be a convert, who knows... ;)

I'm doing this through an NZ site, Snapfish, I'm actually copying it all over as I go so it won't be such a big job at the end of the year!

@genevieve, thats a pretty great idea...doing it little by little.

I use shutterfly for family photo books, but I think the page formats are too limiting for my 365 project. I want each week in a 2 page spread with the option. I have not checked out Blurb yet.

I got a blurb book printed out last year from my QLD Holiday. And it's the most amazing book ever. It's gorgeous. I'm going to do the same for my P365 project. I've also had books from Shutterfly printed out and they are equally as good.

I'd probably go Blurb over Shutterfly. But they are both good. There's a lot of places that do Photobooks now :)

An excellent idea to collate your photos and comments in a book.
I'm in the UK and there are loads of companies who provide fantastic photobooks. I've used quite and have been really pleased with the results!
A Year in the Life....

@louisejb i was then going to ask about any UK based ones :)

@flamez I have used Jessops several times, they have tons of options for sizes and layouts.
I'm planning to do a book of all my photos at the end of the year as well!

Ooh, I plan on doing one too, but it'll be a small book. :)

Are you planning on making a 365 page book, one photo per page? Photos only or with text? I would like to set it up so that I am not uploading 365 photos at the end, but I want to hear from people who are starting. I am planning to use Artscow, because I have used them in the past and even though the site isn't the easiest to use, their prices are great, they frequently have sales (which I will wait for) and I have practiced enough recently that it's easy for me.

I have used: (In UK)
Truprint
Snapfish
Photobox
Tic Tac Photo (Swedish co I think)
All have been really good.

I'm in the UK too but I've only used Blurb - was very impressed with the whole service, from the software to finished product. Planning a few more this year I think! Have seen good stuff from Photobox too, to echo Louise's rec ...
