Hey all, bought a promaster tripod last year while we were in the US.
Only just recently realized that it doesn't pan at all no matter how loose the thumb screw on the side is (what I'd assume would be a pan lock screw)
Write the customer service looking for assistance, got the most "helpful" reply back /sarcasm
"Thank you for your inquiry.
Please make sure that nothing is obstructing in between the Tripod Head and the base of the tripod. Penn Camera is also online at www.penncamera.com you could try to contact them also they may have other options for you to try. Thank you again for supporting PROMASTER. "
I have their 7400 model which is somewhat midrange as far as their tripods go. I thought when I bought it it would do everything I needed short of make me my morning coffee.Anyone have ideas?
@icywarm No, even so much as fully unscrewed the thumb screw and resorted to the male version of fixing something (applying force!)
Tripod functioned as it a stable surface, was just annoying to have to manually lift it each time you wanted it to move a little left or right. At least my subject (uluru) wasn't moving
Ok did your tripod come with a head? You could swap out the one it came with for one that does what you would like... quick release plates, pan/tilt, pistil grip, ect...
