@kali66 Thanks! I have emailed Ross @scrivna and am waiting to hear back. I do think there needs to be an added level of protection on this site. I’d hate to make my account private because of a few bad apples.
Sandy - you have to remember that this is a public site... anyone can view your images and comments... and anyone can sign up for an account... we are very fortunate in that this is a wonderfully supportive community and have had to contend with very few trolls... and Ross has dealt with them pretty effectively over the years... but nonetheless it IS a public site...
@northy I completely understand that. All the more reason to be able to block someone you do not feel comfortable with. On the other hand, I do Pinterest and this site but other than that, I don’t think I do any other public sites i.e. sites I don’t have to approve for them follow me. So, you can’t block a user on a public site?
365 is completely open to the public... you do not need an account to surf the site, view photos, view threads, view comments... you do need an account to post photos and comments... a spam account can be removed by Ross, but I doubt he can prevent someone from viewing content that is posted to the site... you can, of course, restrict access to your own account...
Hello, so as Northy says, “blocking” u see on a public site is quite limited in what it can do because anyone is able to view the photos. Blocking comments from people would be a useful feature, let me know if this same user does it again.
@Scrivna Okay thanks. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if I see them post again. FYI, the same person sent the same but differently worded message to my account four times. They must have deleted the other three times as only one showed up in comments but I received four notifications.
I've had this happen quite a few times, I wish that somehow you could make it so only people who have posted photos can comment on other people's photos? @scrivna
Hey, new users are limited in what they can do, such as commenting and posting to the discussion boards, obviously it's very hard to discern spammers from genuine people, they can easily just upload a photo and continue anyway, so I do have ways of tracking these users down and removing them, but usually they have to have done something that "looks spammy" before I can tell them apart from a normal new user. It's a constant fight, so I feel your annoyance when they comment on your photos and I'll do my best to fight the spam.
@Scrivna I imagine it’s a constant battle. Thank you for everything you do to help keep this a fun place to be. Is this the proper place to report such a thing or should we just shoot you an email if another comes up?
