As I'm looking at the clock and realising that I've not taken a photograph today yet... I'm thinking about inspiration, and where the heck I can find it!
I was wondering what you do to get inspiration - where you look, what you do etc?
Also, do you ever set yourself themes for a week or anything like that?
I'm loving project 365 so far, but I don't want to run out of steam!!
I have had a few of those days already but I just look around teh house for something that looks cool.
I now hope to be able to photograph something everyday although yesterday I had to use an image from teh weekend as I have been stupid busy and needed to sleep!
Just have a wander around the house and i'm sure something will jump out!
I try to think about something about my day or something that reflects something about my day.
I kind of had this problem you describe today. I recently got a Kinect and was playing it after work a lot today, but taking a picture of the Kinect would be boring and I had no desire to take a picture of me playing the Kinect... As a result of playing Kinect and sore muscles, I really wanted a bath, so ended up snapping some shots of my running bath. This relates to the soreness of my muscles and the exercise and therefore represents something about my day.
Not sure if that is helpful, but is an example of how my thought processes go towards picking a subject for a photo. Of course some days I just happen to see something and instantly know that will be my photo for the day!
@elsz I normally wait til later on to post anyway, after taking pictures all day and try and choose one that feels like my day.
If nothing special has happened, have a think about the movie-scene theme?
Or browse some tags that interest you to see if inspiration strikes?
I try not to think too hard about what I take. Sometimes I find myself looking for the perfect photo, and thats hardly ever going to happen. I keep notes, and if any ideas come to me during the day I make a note of it for the days I have no inspiration at all.
My family's daily life is inspiration. The kids always seem to find something new to do or discover. Otherwise, you could check out www.dailyshoot.com for ideas. Just get out and take photos.
I have a look in here then ideas just pop into my head. Mainly of items I have lying about the house. I've started writing them all down but can't put an order on them, I just go with the flow. My aim is to do something not on the list but if inspiration doesn't come then I have it as back up. I've used the list so far but I'm only on my 4th day and I have 33 things on my list so far.
@miranda , I cant tell you the last time we had sun here in the N/W so inspiration there is a joke, so I look inwards. and I live in a toy shop it seems so its not hard to find something to set up.... lol plus having a slightly warped mind helps!!!
I'm with @kirsty1975 on this one - I keep a list of a) themes (I'm doing stranger portraits starting feb 1st - anyone else in?!?!) b) specific places in the city I'd like to shoot c) cool ideas I get from 365, like the food coloring, drop of water, and spider shots. I reference as necessary; oftentimes I've already taken a cool shot for the day.
I have sleepless nights thinking about the 'what next' ... then other times I shrug and look on my desk, in Martin's pockets ... I don't go to other sites and very rarely shoot and put up anything I've seen somewhere else ... totally against the copying thingo. I"m off drugs now so that may account for something!
P.S. when I've seen something on someone's site I tell them I want to try it and ask if they don't mind that I do but (sssshhhhh - our secret) I just don't have time and they go on the 'one day' list.

I love browsing round the site. There are some truly AMAZING pictures out there! :)
I am in need of pockets of inspiration right now.
