How are you deleting them? Using the computer? Or using the camera itself? If you are using the computer, dragging the files to the trash or recycle bin (depending on the platform you use) doesn't actually remove them from the card. You would have to empty the trash or recycle bin to actually empty out the card.
If you are using the camera, not sure why that would happen.
@lisavella Art H is right, if you are doing it on the camera and this is happening not sure why. This will happen with a computer depending on how you are removing. If it is in the camera, try another card and see if you are getting the same issue. Some cards wear out quicker or have issues for whatever reason. Hope this helps.

the card and camera we only purchased at the beginning of dec.. its a class 10 32mb card....
