Yeah, we don't have a PS3 but an Xbox 360 and it's the same sort of deal. It's great for putting together slideshows or showing pictures/videos to a group. Especially if everything is all networked together. I highly recommend it as well.
how does that work? whenever we turn on the ps3 and scroll through things, my laptop shows up on there, and i'd very much like to be able to look at pictures etc on the tv through the ps3 or the xbox 360
thanks
@steviesteve Can you post a quick 'how to' or some instructions to do that because I would love it. Does it work with RAW files or do they have to be JPEG?
Turn on the PS3, seems to find it better when not gaming
Run PS3 Media Server program on your PC/MAC. (when it finds it, which it should do very easily) in the first tab in the application you should see a PS3
Along the top tab is one called "Navigation Share settings" down the bottom you need to add all the folders you wish to view on the PS3.
So most likely will be - my pictures, my music and my videos etc.
Go and see your ps3 and go into the photos/music or videos, scroll down and there should be the folders you choose.
Takes a little time to see them first time round, but give it a few mins (I have 200 folders and it sees all of them fine)
Yeah it sees raw too, so I move mine to another folder as otherwise you see the RAW, then its jpeg etc (If you store them in the same folder of course)
It took me more time to type this, than it actually takes, give it a go. Its great seeing your own pics huge
Then add a bit of music, grab a beer/wine kick back and enjoy the shots
I love viewing my pics on the ps3. I haven't with my 365 photos but I have with holiday photos etc. It would be worth viewing my 365 as they always seem to look better on there than on the pc

The link area is just after the screen grab showing the plug.
Install the PS3 Media Server program.
