I have not found any details on how to upload by email. I have tried a couple of times and it does not seem to work, I don’t see the image I email. I wanted to work it out before I am in a situation where email is the best or only option.
I only use email for my uploads. You'll find the email that you need to email them to on the upload page https://365project.org/upload (don't share that email with anyone). I reduce the size of the image, so it's under 1MB, but you can probably go a little bigger. Some email providers have issue once you get to 5MB or so. I also give it about 10 minutes before I check to see if it's arrived at the site. Email isn't instant. Then you'll need to go the upload page again, and you should see a banner at the top that says you have uploads waiting to be organized. Click that link, verify your date is correct, and add notes and tags and save.
Another thing to check is if your SMTP server is being blacklisted. I'm fairly certain the receiving email server does subscribe to some sort of RBL, but I don't know which one(s).
You can do a blacklist lookup on your SMTP server from this site -- https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx
