A few of my friends have agreed to model for me so I can practice portrait shots. Whilst all give permission for me to use their images on here etc I have had friendships very rapidly turn sour before and I don't want any future arguments if their were problems with our friendship in time to come.
Does anyone have examples of a standard permission/image release form?
Thank you
First, you don't need a release just to use a photo. Releases are only necessary when you are selling the photos as prints, for advertisements, or to newspapers and magazines.
@rogerprice This may be one time when even the greedy lawyers realize such laws are kinda stupid. I found a business lawyer where I used to live, asked for his services in helping draft custom release forms and legal documents for my photography, and he did it pro bono. He even stated that if people had to pay for a lawyer to help them with every single law that exists both locally and federally, everyone would be broke!

Lots of associations have put together general releases for people to use. A quick google turns up a bunch from the American Society of Media Photographers. Here's their list of releases, including a standard model release, a simplified one, one for minors, and a location release.

However, if you want a release just to give your mind some ease, check out this article from the New York Institute of Photography.
