I have a site set up through Shutterfly but I have not made much money with it yet. Through some small sales and a photo shoot I have recovered the cost of setting up the site but I have not made a profit yet.
I also have questions like this. I've been shooting yearbook all year (I teach high school FT) and some parents seem to be taking my work for granted. So I also want to set up a pay site for next school year.
I have been selling my images on Etsy, which has results in some sales but not much. What I have been finding is it is a MUST to boldly watermark your images otherwise they WILL be stolen and used without your permission.
Set up my site with Clikpik, just about covering the costs of this, check out my clikpik website to see the shop features at www.petervanallen.com. My main sales are local craft sales and markets selling cards and prints of local views (which always have a link to my website on them), did really well just before Christmas but it went very quiet in January and February and is just starting to pick up again. Selling this way gets your name known locally and the recipients of the cards (usually locals that have moved from the area) get to see and hopefully buy some pictures.
